Tax Planning at Long + Cowan
Wellington Tax Accountants
The Long + Cowan team are members of the Accountants and Tax Agents Institute of New Zealand and a member of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. Through this expertise and professional knowledge, we are able to support small to medium businesses with their tax planning and compliance. As tax regulations are becoming more and more complex, it can be challenging to keep on top of them and ensure that you are fully compliant. We will help optimise your business and personal tax bills, making the most of available relief and allowances and avoiding unnecessary penalties.
Our tax accounting services are tailored to suit your requirements. Sign us up to be your individual, company, or trust tax agent, and we’ll complete and file all your returns, and correspond with Inland Revenue on your behalf, giving you peace of mind.
Here are two advantages of signing up with Long + Cowan as your tax agent:
-
- Instead of your income tax return being due on 7 July, you get 9 months to file your tax return (until the following 31 March), and
- Instead of your terminal tax being due on 7 February this is not due until 7 April allowing you an extra 2 months to pay the IRD without penalty.
Long + Cowan files income and GST returns electronically with the Inland Revenue. We provide a plain English tax letter with the income tax return advising the composition of taxes to be paid and the timing of when the taxes are due. Provisional tax may be due on certain dates during the year and Long + Cowan send out reminders to clients of provisional tax and terminal tax due so as to avoid late payment penalties being charged by the Inland Revenue.
